Christmas Recipes featured on A Currrent AffairThe Kaotic Kitchen girls, Sally and Amanda, appeared again on A Current Affair with three new recipes that you won't find in the cookbook, especially for Christmas. Yummy bacon wrapped turkey rolls with sage and cranberry stuffing, walnut crusted pork medallions with caramalised apples, and a fresh light dish for a hot Christmas Day featuring sweet chilli chicken and prawn skewers. A not so-Kaotic Today show appearanceAmanda and Sally were invited to Sydney to do a cooking segment on Channel Nine’s Today. After waking up at the crack of dawn to get to the studio on time for hair and makeup, the girls were interviewed by Lisa and Georgie whilst preparing their Mini Beef Wellington. The presenters were impressed with how simple and fast the meal was put together, it only took four minutes! After the segment, the set crew demolished the meal in seconds. Kaotic Kitchen makes A Current AffairMargueritte Rossi got the scoop on this fantastic cookbook for Channel 9's A Current Affair. The disarming reporter interviews the children and the husbands about how they managed on just mince and sausages for twelve months as well as an exclusive interview with Amanda and Sally revealing their secret to feeding a family on a budget with quick, easy and simple recipes. Interview with ABC's Mary-Lou StephensMary-Lou Stephens' neice picked the receipe she was going to test, Greek Souvlaki Wraps with Garlic Yoghurt Sauce. The presenter loved the sauce, not only for the taste but how easy it was to make and how fun it was to construct. Listen to the interview
Australian Food Media AwardsThe girls attended the 2010 biannual Australian Food Media Awards on 28 October. They enjoyed a five course meal prepared by executive chef James Viles and rubbed shoulders with some of Australia's top foodies. A great night was had by all who attended.
Brisbane Writers FestivalAmanda and Sally were invited to be a part of the 2010 Brisbane Writers Festival on the 3rd September. The workshop titled "Kaos in the Kitchen" was attended by 3-5 year olds and there carers. The children were all given a home made kid size chef hat each and two lucky parents were given movie tickets for some time out. 2010 Seniors ExpoThe 2010 Seniors Expo was held over two days at the newly refurbished Southport RSL on the 15-16 August. Kaotic Kitchen were one of 55 exhibitors displaying their products to over 1500 seniors. The high light of the day was meeting Amanda's 80's hero Peter Russell Clark who signed and promoted the book during one of his cooking sessions.2009 Gold Coast Show Community Cook OffAmanda and Sally were promoting the book before it was even published! They entered Chicken Mince Mingon with Waldolf and Blueberry Salad into the first Gold Coast Show Community Cook Off. The dish was up against the likes of Baramundi and fillet steak but still made it through to the final. |
